Image Tracking Campaign

(Marker-Based / Print Activation)

An Image-Tracking AR experience is triggered when the user points their camera at a specific image (called the Marker or Image Target). When the camera detects the image in the real world, the AR content appears anchored on top of it.

Best For:

  • Product packaging (bottles, boxes, pouches)

  • Printed marketing materials (flyers, brochures, posters, banners)

  • Business Cards

  • Magazines, catalogues & brand collaterals

  • Store displays & signage

  • F&B labels

How Marker-Based AR Works

  1. You choose an image (your marker) — for example, a product label or printed photo.

  2. Users scan that image with their phone camera.

  3. The AR content appears aligned to that exact image in real space.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Start a New Project

  1. From your Dashboard, click New Project.

  2. Name your project & click Continue.

  3. Select Image Tracking (Marker-Based) from the template options.

Tips for Good Marker Images:

  • High Contrast: Should have distinct patterns and sharp lines.

  • Avoid: Plain colors, low-detail artwork, gradients, or repetitive patterns.

  • Issues: Avoid glossy reflections, blurry images, or stretched graphics.

Editing or Changing the Marker Later

If you want to replace or update the marker image later:

  • Click the Upload AR Marker button located at the top of the editor.

  • This lets you re-upload a new marker anytime — no need to start over.

3. Add Your AR Content

Once the marker is set, the 3D Editor will display the marker image as the surface where your AR objects will appear.

From here, you can:

  • Upload 3D models (My Assets3D+ Upload).

  • Add Videos (Great for animated posters or product explainers).

  • Add Images or Text elements.

  • Add CTA buttons inside the AR scene.
